Delivering world-class durum semolina
Partnering with premium South Australian growers to deliver world-class durum semolina. Built on decades of milling heritage, precision technology, and trusted regional logistics.
About Us
Established in 1989 by our parent company, San Remo, Harley Milling was founded to provide a fully integrated solution for pasta manufacturing, durum storage, and semolina milling in South Australia.
Since commissioning our first mill in 1990 and a second in 2001, we have remained at the forefront of the industry. In 2026, we successfully completed a major renovation, doubling our semolina production capacity to meet global demand
What We Do
Unlike other milling companies and facilities, our focus is on producing semolina, characterised by its coarse particles and signature bright yellow colour. Semolina can only be made using durum wheat. Durum is especially good for pasta production as it contains a high amount of gluten-forming proteins, which are excellent for producing strong, structured, and supple-textured pasta.
The milling of semolina requires cracking open the durum kernel and extracting the nutritious endosperm inside. The outer layer of bran is removed, then processed into a high-protein, high-mineral-content animal feed pellet. For enquiries about purchasing animal feed, please contact Daniel Kumar on +61 452 376 713 or via email DKumar@sanremo.com.au.
Harley Milling not only produces semolina for local pasta makers, but also supplies international markets. Through our Euremo Exportation Program, Harley Milling-produced semolina is distributed globally and can now be found in pasta sold in 35 countries around the world.
Our goal is to work closely with the farmers who provide us with high-quality durum wheat, and as such, we are proud supporters of The Southern Australia Durum Growers Association SADGA. Harley Milling and San Remo aim to provide continuous support to local and interstate farmers. Without them, pasta production is simply not possible.
